The South West Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife (RDFOF-SW) has received some technical equipments from the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife within the framework of the C2D Forest Environment Sector Programme (C2D-PSFE2).

These materials were officially handed over to the delegation by the Sub-director of Inventory and Management now Technical Adviser No. 1 to the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife – Mr NKIE Martin on the 26th of February 2016 at the Conference Hall of the Regional Delegation.

The equipments which include: compasses, cyber trackers, cameras, sleeping bags, tents and GPSs were handed over to the delegation as contribution to reinforce the sustainable management of Forest estates in the South West Region.

In the presence of PSMNR-SWR partners, a visiting Japanese Team, Staff of RDFOF-SW, Eco-guards of Mount Cameroon National Park and some Media, the Sub-director who was representing the National Coordinator of C2D-PSFE2 handed over the equipments to the South West Regional Delegate of Forestry and Wildlife Mr Eben Ebai Samuel.

“We are particularly pleased to have these materials from MINFOF through the C2D Programme. These are modern equipments that will help us in the management of the forest estates in the South West Region” stated the regional delegate in appreciation.

The regional delegate further disclosed that the eco-guards in the national parks are well advanced in the use of modern equipments thanks to continuous capacity building within the context of PSMNR-SWR.

He however appealed that MINFOF should build the capacity of the regional delegation’s staff to effectively handle and use the new equipments.
